Changyun Tech Launches Hydraulic Reel Winder for Wire Rope, Enhancing Cable Laying Safety Through Automation
On March 6, 2026, Changyun Technology officially launched its newly developed Hydraulic Reel Winder for Wire Rope. Designed for underground cable laying and overhead transmission line construction, the machine replaces the traditional high-risk method of manually handling the tail end of wire rope with an automated hydraulic winding system, providing a safer and more efficient solution for cable laying operations.
The Changyun Hydraulic Reel Winder for Wire Rope is driven by a 1.5 kW motor-powered hydraulic system. Its key advantage lies in automatic speed matching and constant back-tension control during wire rope winding. The machine can automatically follow the rope winding speed, with a maximum following speed of up to 26 m/min on the innermost layer, while keeping the wire rope under stable and effective tension. This helps prevent rope slipping, rope jumping out of the groove, uneven winding, and equipment faults that may occur during manual operation. By replacing manual tail-rope handling, the machine significantly reduces physical safety risks and places operator safety at the forefront.
In terms of structure and operation, the Hydraulic Reel Winder for Wire Rope features a robust frame and an automatic level-winding design. The machine weighs 240 kg without wire rope and supports multiple wire rope specifications, including 14 mm wire rope up to 620 m, 16 mm wire rope up to 500 m, and 18 mm wire rope up to 400 m. It operates on AC380V power, with customizable voltage options available.
The machine is easy to operate and provides four working modes: rope winding, pressure holding, rope pay-out, and pressure release. Operators can switch between modes through the electric control box or remote control, allowing the machine to adapt to different jobsite conditions with ease.
