First-Ever Global Initiative for Nuclear Technology Application Industry Released at the Third International Conference on Nuclear Technology Application Industry Development

On April 21, the Third International Conference on Nuclear Technology Application Industry Development opened in Beijing. The China Isotope and Radiation Association released the first-ever global cooperation initiative for the nuclear technology application industry at the conference — the Initiative to Jointly Build an Open, Inclusive, and Mutually Beneficial International Eco‑system for the Nuclear Technology Application Industry. More than 400 representatives and guests from over 20 countries attended the event, including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Sudan, the United States, Canada, Australia, South Korea, and Thailand.

Attendees included ambassadors, chargés d’affaires, and counsellors from Sudanese, Nigerian, Kenyan, Thai, and other permanent missions to the United Nations in Vienna; representatives from the State Nuclear Security Technology Center, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, and other related institutions; corporate representatives from the China National Nuclear Corporation, the China General Nuclear Power Group, the State Power Investment Corporation, IBA (Belgium), and Air Liquide (France); university representatives from Tsinghua University and Peking University; and representatives from research institutes such as the China Academy of Engineering Physics and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The newly released Initiative to Jointly Build an Open, Inclusive, and Mutually Beneficial International Eco‑system for the Nuclear Technology Application Industry is the first global cooperation initiative for the nuclear technology application industry launched by the China Isotope and Radiation Association. It expresses the desire to work together with international organizations, national industry associations, industry and research entities in the field of nuclear technology applications. Guided by the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and rooted in peaceful use, openness, inclusiveness, and mutual benefit, the initiative aims to foster a new type of international industrial cooperation characterized by mutual respect, fairness, justice, and collaborative development; explore new pathways for global cooperation; jointly maintain a stable, open, safe, and reliable international eco‑system for the nuclear technology application industry; enhance mutual learning of development experience and alignment of development paths; jointly address common challenges and issues in the industry; provide innovative solutions for global sustainable development and economic recovery; and strive to ensure that the benefits of nuclear technology applications reach people in more countries and regions.

As a landmark international conference in the field of nuclear technology applications, this year’s event was hosted by the China Isotope and Radiation Association under the theme “Nuclear Energy for the Future, Global Wisdom for Tomorrow — Creating a New Future for the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Technology.” The conference has built a high‑level, high‑standard international platform for exchanges, cooperation, and exhibitions between China and other countries in the nuclear technology field. It leads innovation trends in nuclear technology applications, builds consensus on industrial cooperation, promotes international trade, and showcases China’s proposals, wisdom, and strength in advancing the global development of the nuclear technology application industry.
